Soroush Niroumandfard is an allround musician and music teacher who is specialized in Tombak, Daf and Drums.

Born in Shiraz – Iran, July 13th 1986, to a family who loved music, Soroush started playing Tombak around the age of 12 under the wing of his first music teacher Alireza Kavari. It was Mr. Kavari who also introduced Soroush to other Persian instruments such as the Daf. After finishing the master courses with Mr. Kavari, Soroush spent some time exploring the methods of Iran’s most contemporary influential Tombak player: Mr. Navid Afghah, by following his courses.

In 2002 Soroush started his drum career. With limited resources available in Iran at that time, Soroush spent many hours teaching himself how to master the drums. His hard work resulted in him being able to teach in several music schools along Shiraz, only a few years after.

Besides his teaching career Soroush has also played on numerous stages in Iran and the UK. Having participated in the first Rock festival in Iran and having played alongside the bands Orod, Hoom, Blue Jays and Tracktor.
Soroush has also starred in traditional persian concerts with The Bamdad ensemble featuring Maestro Majid Derakhshani and Mohammad Motamedi.
Soroush has also received many awards for performances in competition-winning festivals.

Now based in Liverpool since 2015, Soroush is active on the music scene, including being Zingaro’s first drummer and percussionist in 2017.
